I think Fielder would welcome a trade to a contender it would boost his resume.
Mr. LA Sports Fan
Bush’s quality starts are deceiving. His WHIP is higher than Lilly’s, and he has struck out fewer batters.

Haha, David Bush was never a very good pitcher and he’s surprised when he’s having an average season and guys aren’t jumping on him? Seems like he overrates his players more than the Yanks and Red Sox do.
Bush would be a decent back end guy. He used to have great control, but for some reason this year his control is spotty but he’s not giving up as many runs. Not sure if that means he’s due to get better or worse.

The Brewers have stated they need pitching help, so if Bush is so “serviceable,” why even entertain the idea of trading him?
Christian
Because he is a FA after this season, and I doubt the Brewers are interested in resigning him.

Yeah, I know, I was really just being sarcastic (note the quotations).

I would take Ted Lilly over any of those pitchers. He’s a smart pitcher, a real bulldog on the mound, and a fierce competitor. Ted Lilly gives it everything he’s got every time he steps on the mound.
My second choice would be Brett Myers. He’s been solid this season after not quite living up to expectations in the past. plus he’s been successful in a relief role. If he ends up being your 4th best starter, he gives you an extra pen arm for the playoffs.

I don’t think Bush would be that much worse than Lilly for a team that needs an innings eater, and he would likely come MUCH cheaper. Lilly is really overrated right now imo.
ThePaulCrew
Bush is a very solid back of the rotation guy. He will have is fair share of bad outings but he goes on little hot streaks during the year that give him some decent value.

8 games out of the playoffs LOL….how many teams have to fall flat on their faces, how about that number? cuz thats the number that counts…they won’t catch the Giants and they won’t catch BOTH the Reds and Cardinals…so sell…and might as well make it the giants..they are loaded with cheap TALENTED pitching..
Sam_Lee
I’d expect they’d sell regardless, but they don’t have to sell cheap as much as other teams’ fans want them to. Cards are loaded with problems and the Reds starting outfield is a mess as well.
