This article contradicts itself because they reported yesterday the Red Sox will be agressive, trying to improve the team, according to Larry Luccihno. Given Theos track record you have to think he’s in on a big name. Even if he decides not to give up a boat load of prospects for Werth (which doesn’t seem likely since Victorinos injury) a guy like Josh Willingham would be a very good fit. But moves are certainly going to be made.
Compared to what could be moved still, it has been fairly quiet. Lee was awhile ago and the Escobar-Gonzalez deal was before the a/s break.

Frank Wren and the Braves need to get motivated to buy a bat. The Phillies just made themselves a LOT better.

I’m glad people have quit the knocking of the Roy garbage. I figured it was mostly posturing by GMs who didn’t want to overpay, fans who overvalued their prospects, and trolls who well…troll.
But the way people talked about Roy just a week ago, it was like he was Miss Iowa and Lee is Miss Universe (hat tip Batista, classy and hilarious) when really Lee is Ms Universe and Roy is Miss America (especially the Diva aspects, which also seemed to have finally cooled). Anyways, it’s looking like my ‘Stros got a haul and the Phillies got themselves an advantage.
who do u think that they could get? personally i thought we could of used a scott posednik type of player. someone who can play some CF/LF. and get on base and use his speed. with heyward, mccann, glaus, chipper, and to some extent prado there is a lot of power and not a lot of base stealing ability. tho heyward’s steal of home was awesome.
