Wally Backman a bench coach for Bobby V?? Are you kidding me? Bobby has forgotten more about baseball than Backman knows.
Just_MLB
matt cerrone is a t00l…ok hire bobby v to be manager…and dont allow bobby v to pick his own bench coach…rather pick a bench coach thirsty for his first mlb job, who has no loyalty to bobby v. this sounds like the willie randolph/jerry manuel relationship all over again.
I’d rather wally backman be the manager…and let wally pick his own bench coach…and his own hitting instructor…keeping chip/dan warthen in their respective positions.

So Sebathia think V-Mart goes elsewhere….Wow, what breaking news!
icedrake523
Valentine as manager and Backman as bench coach is an awful idea, It creates a hostile work environment which is the last thing the Mets need. And Backman doesn’t belong anywhere near a major league dugout.
John LeClair
Wow CC Sabathia is an idiot, who cares what his opinion is, Just Because he hates the Sox doesn’t mean V Mart Does.
Sniderlover
Maybe he thinks the organization doesn’t want him back? They were rumored to be in for a catcher and letting Martinez walk would get them 2 picks and they may prefer a 2-way catcher.
Sleepykarl
Someone just asked him his opinioned and he said what he thought. It’s posted here because they are friends and he might have some insight from talking. I don’t think he said it because he hates the sox, but because someone asked his personal opinion. It’s not like the sox are really pushing to sign him as they lowballed him in their first offer (at least in Victors eyes).

I think Phil Wood is off his rocker as I don’t see the current crop of MLB owners handing the reins of the Commisioner’s Office to someone that’s not a member of their fraternity. When Selig abdicates his throne at the end of 2012, he’ll surely become owner of the Brewers again seeing as he never left Milwaukee to begin with. And current Brewers owner Attanasio seems like a safe bet to become the Dodgers owner once the McCourts get to the point of having to sell. There’s no clear favorite at this point as to which current majority owner gets appointed to be MLB’s next commissioner (and gets paid twice what their franchise is worth to “sell” it). Reinsdorf? Ilitch? Wolff? Nintendo?

Fred Lewis is not an everyday player. If he thinks he is, then he is clearly delusional.
HerbertAnchovy
Agreed. I’ve never been a fan of Lewis or his attitude, and would be happy to see him traded.
Dave_Gershman
Freddy has been awesome this season and I love the guy. Hope he’s with us next season.
Sniderlover
What’s there to like about him? His crappy defense? The way he doesn’t use his speed? Crappy base-running instincts? No power? His SO for a guy who is not a slugger? Crappy attitude?
He is a gap-stop and I really hope he doesn’t come back. At least as a 4th outfielder, you expect some defense and Lewis cannot provide that at all.
Dave_Gershman
I don’t know about his bad attitude…As far as I’ve seen, he is a great guy. He has also helped emphasize the speed and defense mindset of the Jays and he has been a catylyst for their offense.
Sniderlover
He was complaining about his playing time and thought he deserved to be playing everyday (when Snider came up).
He’s a stop-gap. He did a decent job when he was here but Jays should move on.
gs01
Fred Lewis should watch the video highlights and then ask himself if he’s really an everyday player, it’s a circus every time the ball is hit to him.

Maybe V-Mart to the Cardinals makes sense, since two of the rumors here have a common thread…hmm…

I can see a challenge trade for Andrew Miller with Cleveland. The Indians have a left hander that they have had trouble getting the performance they expected from in David Huff. Cleveland would be in a position to stick Miller in the rotation and ride out the bumps. They’ve tried with Huff and it hasn’t happened. He has also pi@@ed off some of the Indians brass. Miller is exactly the type of player the Indians should take a look at and take a chance on.
So how about a trade=Andrew Miller for David Huff. A change of coaching staffs/approach just might be a help to both the organization and the players.
Debie
Any team would be great for Andrew Miller besides this one. They have messed with his delivery and now they have to suffer the consequences. Andrew would welcome a trade to a contending team I think. Cleveland may not be the right fit. He deserves a chance to pitch because he has way too much talent to be let go. The Marlins will never get back to their winning ways of 1997 and 2003. Their owner really sucks and he is cheap.
