I wonder if Bengie would take a backup job to play with his brother? The Cardinals are in need of a backup and could use a little pop off the bench. Also someone that could take on a few more innings so Yadi doesn’t have to play so much.
Yadi is the ladies Albert in St. Louis. He is honestly as popular as anyone on the team in St. Louis. I can’t see him leaving, especially if his defense stays as good as it has been. The Cardinals always prefer the great defensive catcher to an offensive minded one…Pagz, Matheny, Yadi

There’s no reason why the Cards wouldn’t let Bryan Anderson and Matt Pagnozzi fight for the job in Spring Training. It’s time that at least one of them gets a consistent chance in the Majors, and it will save $.5-1M or so to help improve more critical areas of the roster.

did bengie just say “I’m still in good shape”? guess he’s gonna shoot for the moon on a new contract again. man just doesn’t get it

He will re-sign with Stl, especially if Albert is still there, they are good buddies. Yadi is definitely a super fan favorite, his jersey is one of the hardest to find in St Louis.

If it means the Rangers don’t re-sign him then by all means retire.
PS: Thanks for the semi clutch playoff hits this year. I just prefer catchers under the 300 lbs mark.
