Oscar Villarreal was terribly overused in Atlanta, but he took the ball everyday and was pretty effective during the 2006 season. Glad to see him getting a look from the Dodgers…

Like this deal a little better than the Eveland signing. In a “perfect world”, none of these guys make the team anyway. Sometimes a gem emerges from the scrapheap, but 2010 had two too many Ortiz’s.

well, if we’re getting technical he only played 58 games… the amount of innings were more the problem.

He was even better in 2003 for Atlanta in his rookie year. However, he pitched an insane amount that year, pitching in 86 games and 96 innings which may have lead to him pitching in just 28 games the next two seasons and missing more time after 2006.

Josh Rupe can’t hold a candle to Ryan Rupe.

There’s also quite a few more signed today and the past few days that haven’t been announced on this site. Granted this site is Major League Baseball Trade Rumors, but, hey, we all know Benoit signed a minor league deal last year with Tampa. Even though Dombrowski over-payed him, well, anything can happen. And, besides, SPAN, a few others and myself would be genuinely interested in this. Here’s what I have:
In the AL: Drew Sutton with the Red Sox, Neal Cotts with the Yankees, Anthony Lerew with Oakland, Mick Hinckley to O Canada, Fabio Castro and Luis Rodriguez with Jack Z in Seattle.
In the NL: Jeff Frazier to Natstown, Zach Segovia to Pittsburgh, Josh Kroeger (remember him from 05 with the Snakes?) takes his talents to South Beach, Josh Barfield, Juan Perez and Ryan Feierabend to Philly, Hector Gimenez to LA (interesting thing about him: of all players with Elias ratings for FAs with MLB service time, he had the lowest rating), and finally, Jay Sborz to Hotlanta.
The Nicker
Almost all of those were mentioned in the previous days. Look harder.
