Carlos Silva, Part II.
Any AL team who acquires this guy expecting him to put up an ERA south of 4.50 is delusional. He could actually be a nice fit for Pittsburgh or Milwaukee, but he’d be a disaster in Baltimore, Texas or New York.

I think I’d still prefer Pavano over him if the Nats were to give up a pick. I know Pavano’s NYY times makes him seem like damaged goods, but I think there is pretty good value there. That being said it is good to talk to both players.

Although I dont think it would be a bad signing, I would rather see the pirates go after some less expensive starting pitching that wont require long term deals. 30 mill over 3 yrs would be way too much money to allocate for someone of his caliber. Of course, this is only my personal opinion. But with the 8-10 Internal options coming through the system within the next 1-3 yrs, I dont know if long term is such a fantastic business decision. But he would help the team; so therefore, I cant be mad if they overspend a bit to improve the major league product.

I’m glad the Brewers aren’t in the mix any more we already have De La Rosa V.2.0 in Parra.
