I guess they have withdrawn from feliciano, downs, and takahashi talks?…
AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs
Were they ever in on Downs? I haven’t seen one serious bidder on Downs yet, but I expect him to sign once Lee, Crawford, Werth, etc sign.

Dennys Reyes will still be a Cardinal next season.

What an insightful post.

Thanks i try.

Dennys Reyes is a decent signing but the thing that makes me shy away from him is the amount of walks he gives up. Lets just say that if he turns out to be our left handed specialist we all know that the one thing that we hated about J.C was the amount of walks he gave up. It wont be nearly as bad with the amount of walks Romero gave up but we sure cant afford to make stupid mistakes especially when in the clutch. Overall I think it would be an okay signing but nothing special and god only knows if we do sign him lets not switch his name to Dennys Reyes to Denys Baez.
Wilson
exactly. I’d be looking for somebody to throw strikes for a change…

His FIP was 4.26. I’m thinking that Reyes is a backup plan, should guys like Takahashi, Feliciano, etc. sign elsewhere. I think there are far more attractive (no pun intended) options, both lefties and righties, then Reyes at this point.
Dave_Gershman
Yeah good point about his FIP. I really like Reyes for a big ballpark team. Maybe the Mariners or Mets on a 1 year deal. He is still the big sweat, but going to the Phillies will cause 43,000 plus Dennys, to sweat. He is a good pitcher and has been for quite some time, I just think at this point of his career, he’s better suited for a team unlike the Phils.
I really want to see the Phils sign Scott Downs or Pedro Feliciano.
myname_989
Hahahaha. The Big Sweat…
I agree though. He’s just not a fit on the Phillies, who really, really need a guy who can shut down left handed hitters. Seeing as he was better against righties than lefties… I’m not sure why they’re even interested. Lol. I like Scott Downs at the right price, but I’d rather not overpay for a guy who’d end up being a lefty specialist for the Phils’, and lose our first round pick. (Even though it may as well be an early supplemental round pick at this point. Lol)
Feliciano on the other hand… That’s the guy I want. Haha
CaseyBlakeDeWitt
I could see the Phillies signing Downs since they’ll likely get a first round pick from Werth.
Camden P
Good point about Werth bringing a first round pick to Philly. I think that’s where Downs ends up. He fits what they are looking for. Not only is he good vs lefties but also good vs righties.
Dylan
I like it….but rather have Pedro, so we can get those three picks.
Ryan
If this guy does sign, and gets anything beyond a one year deal, I’m going to be sick.
Patricio
Its Ruben Amaro…of course it will be a multi year, overpaying deal for a mediocre player.

Finally, someone who can replace Mike Zagurski as resident doughboy.
