Blue Jays Do Not Sign Tyler Beede

The Blue Jays did not sign first round pick Tyler Beede, according to Jim Callis of Baseball America (on Twitter). Octagon Sports represents the right-hander, who will head to Vanderbilt next year. The recommended bonus for the 21st overall pick was $1.332MM, but Beede appeared to be a tough sign even before Toronto scouting director Andrew Tinnish selected him in June. Beede turned down an offer of $2.3MM, according to ESPN.com's Keith Law (on Twitter).

Brewers Sign Taylor Jungmann

The Brewers have signed first round pick Taylor Jungmann, according to a team press release. Hendricks Sports represents the right-hander, who was the 12th overall selection in the June draft. Jungmann was one of three Golden Spikes award finalists for Texas this year.

Pirates Sign Josh Bell

The Pirates signed second rounder Josh Bell for $5MM, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com (on Twitter). The team has confirmed the deal. The high schooler appeared to be one of the toughest signs in the draft.



Nationals Sign Anthony Rendon

The Nationals have signed sixth overall pick Anthony Rendon, according to Jim Callis of Baseball America (on Twitter). Rendon obtained a four-year Major League deal that includes a $6MM bonus and a $7.2MM guarantee. Tim Dierkes explained Major League deals for draft picks earlier today. The Boras Corporation represents the third baseman.

Nationals Sign Alex Meyer

The Nationals have signed first round pick Alex Meyer for $2MM, according to John Manuel of Baseball America (on Twitter). The Boras Corporation represents the 6'9" right-hander, who was the 23rd overall selection in the June draft. The Red Sox selected Meyer out of high school in the 20th round of the 2008 draft.

Red Sox Sign Matt Barnes

The Red Sox signed first rounder Matt Barnes for $1.5MM, according to ESPN.com's Keith Law (on Twitter). Boston selected Barnes, a right-handed pitcher, with the 19th overall pick. The 6'4" 21-year-old starred at UConn in college.

Reds Sign Robert Stephenson

The Reds signed first round pick Robert Stephenson, according to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com (on Twitter). Sosnick Cobbe Sports represents the high school right-hander, who was selected 27th overall. Stephenson pitched back to back no-hitters this year and can reach 98 mph on the radar gun.

Mariners Sign Danny Hultzen

The Mariners have signed second overall pick Danny Hultzen, according to Larry Stone of the Seattle Times (on Twitter). It's a five-year deal worth at least $8.5MM and up to $10.6MM, according to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times (on Twitter). The contract includes a $6.35MM bonus, according to Stone. CAA represents the left-hander.

Rockies Sign Tyler Anderson

The Rockies signed first rounder Tyler Anderson for $1.4MM, according to Zoodig (on Twitter). Legacy Sports Group represents the left-hander, who was the 20th overall selection in the June draft. Anderson, 21, was a Golden Spikes award semi-finalist for Oregon this year and made the Louisville Slugger All-American Second Team.

Red Sox Sign Blake Swihart

The Red Sox signed first rounder Blake Swihart for $2.5MM, according to Zoodig (on Twitter). Legacy Sports Group represents the high school catcher, who was the 26th overall selection in the June draft. Swihart, who had committed to playing for the University of Texas, took batting practice at Fenway Park earlier in the month.
