So, with some of the big names coming up for Hall eligibility in the next few years, is anyone going to eclipse Seaver’s mark? I can’t imagine *any* hitter getting 99% of the votes with the taint of the steroid era, but what about the pitchers?
I think Greg Maddux has the best chance of anyone to be 99% or better. I mean, can anyone even begin to argue why he shouldn’t be? A lot of people don’t like Clemens for being… Clemens… but who doesn’t like Greg Maddux?
Joe
I agree about Maddux… Him, Randy Johnson, and Pedro Martinez all have the best chance, in my opinion.

I was just thinking Randy Johnson as well. Good call on Pedro.

The real question is…Who didn’t vote for Seaver, and what could their reason possibly be.

That not even Babe Ruth got in unanimously, so nobody will ever.

Pujols? If he would be on the ballot right now he’s a 1st-ballot HOFer but what about 10 years down the road when he keeps on hitting the way he is now?
