His ERA last season (and for the couple of seasons before that in fact) was awfully flattering when you actually consider the statistics that matter. I can’t see the Sox offering anything but a minor league contract either.

Getting a little greedy aren’t we Theo? Jenks Wheeler and now Beimel? Leave some for the rest of the AL.

Getting a little greedy eh Theo? Papelbon, Bard, then Jenks, Wheeler, and now Beimel. Save some for the rest of the AL.

Yes because professional baseball is all about sharing

decent numbers against lefties…wouldn’t mind him as Okie-surance. Go for it Theo.

He’d be stupid to take the O’s minor league offer. If Nick Punto and Scott Hairston can get major league deals, Beimel should too

Would rather have Atchison as the back of the BP guy who can go more than 1 inning over Beimel, especially since Francona has this “crush” with established vets and would probably take beimel out of camp and expose innings eater Atchison to yet another waiver claim and he would be gone this time.. As mediocre as he is..he at least can go 2-3 innings and get people out.
If Francona wants a lefty..let Doubrant stick with his mid 90’s FB, forget this vet who can’t buy a RH out.

Not bad depth for the Sox – he may be worth taking a flyer on. You can never have too much pitching…

this guy is underrated. he did a great job with the Nats
