It’s kind of sad to have witnessed how far Kazmir’s value and ability regressed over the last few years. He turned into A.J. Burnett

His regression was really only last season. In 2009 he was rehabbing from an injury. When he came over to the Halos he was lights out (small sample size warning):
36 IP / 1.73 ERA / 1.04 WHIP
2010 was an absolute train wreck. Although it is interesting that Kazmir’s ERA and WHIP were very similar to Burnett in 2010. Going forward I would take Kazmir and his contract all day long vs Burnett and his contract.
