Great move. Ozzie is good for the Sox. They’re better off without the distraction of a coach who doesn’t know where he stands with the organization.

Just in time for Soxfest tonight.

Good, keep him in the dugout and off of the FOX broadcasts! Unless he’s dropping F-bombs in post game interviews, I can’t understand a word he says.

“We’ll exercise your 2012 option, and in return you must smash your son’s cellphone and/or break his thumbs.”

“…No, but seriously: we will fire your s— if that kid tweets about anyone’s personal life ever again.”

Smart move. Ozzie’s a good manager and is great at taking pressure off his players. Kind of like a Rex Ryan without the trash talking. Sox look to be a good team heading into 2011, but you can never discount the Twins, obviously.

Florida wants Guillen to be their manager next year when their new stadium opens. This is why their current manager only received a one year contract. They thought the Sox would not exercise Guillen’s option for 2012.
The old trade rumor of Guillen for Mike Stanton was nonsense. But the Sox did propose a Guillen for Logan Morrison trade at that time.
It will be interesting to see the Marlins reaction, if any, to Guillen’s 2012 employment.

Why does stupid Florida wants Guillen. FLA have won their share of championships and there is no need for Guillen. He will probably get fired this year if the team doesnt get off to a good start. As their is alot of expectations now with the signing of Dunn.

You may consider hiring a proofreader before referring to anyone as “stupid”.

I understand there was a moment of silence throughout Japan when it was announced there.

This prevents mid-season drama, as long as the Sox are doing well.
