I had no idea that David Newhan was still around to be signed to anything!

i thought there was a law against re-signing with a team once you’ve been PTBNL’d

Aw, Bobby Kielty. Hitter of the winning home run in the 2007 World Series. He wasn’t with the Sox for very long, but he struck me as a good guy. I hope he finds success again.

Hoyer is just playing the odds here. Each has had promise and/or produced at one time or another.
Very small risk with some decent upside. Why not?

If I remember Bobby Kielty right (and assuming it’s still the same), you could get some decent production from him as a platoon partner against lefties.

Riley is the only player here mildly interesting.

This looks like a move to fill up minor league rosters…The minor League teams need depth as well..also having a few Vets playing with the Baby Pads down under is smart and can payoff…other wise it would be a bonus if one of these players found new mojo and moved up to SD…Go $40 Mil Pads..We beat You For Less+++

“The players will provide San Diego with organizational depth, but do not receive invitations to Major League Spring Training.”
Yea I’d say you’re right…… ….

You have got to be kidding me. These signings would be a stretch for the Pirates. The Padres must have no one left in their minor league organization for these moves.
