“As for the 2010-11 offseason, Legacy has one big fish: C.C. Sabathia. Many expect Sabathia to opt out of his contract with the Yankees, which could allow him to top his own record of $161MM for the amount guaranteed to a pitcher.”
Who is this many and why are they so dumb? No one is going to pay for even close to that amount for CC because CC plays very great but not outstanding ball. I know people think he’s an ace and all that but aside from innings pitched I can’t see one standout stat that proves anything.

You are smoking crack, sir…..
He will GET PAID…..
Either way, what would YOU rather have, a 4 year deal? or a 7 year deal???
Its not rocket science buddy

Who else is a FA Ace next offseason???
NO ONE….. He will be a YEAR YOUNGER THAN LEE….. And the Yankees are SCREWED on pitching……
They will pay him whatever he wants.

If he does if fact OPT out the yankee’s would definitely have to be first in line bidding for his services. They lost pettite this offseason, and didn’t snag lee, and with no other ace available on the FA market, I find it hard to believe that the yanks would go with burnett, hughes, nova, colon, betances, etc.
IF he opts out, I could definitely see him topping his previous 7/161 deal. They could also look to flip montero & others for a pitcher, but they have the spending power, and I expect them to use it.
