If you pronounce Peabody as it sounds — Pee-BAHHH-dee — instead of the correct/stupid way (Pee-buh_dee), you get chided. If you pronounce Gloucester as GLAU-CHESTER, you get slapped. If you pronounce Worcester as WOR-CHESTER, you get shot.
