Clearly the organization sees something in Proctor that the rest of don’t see (or he has some dirt on somebody?). I suppose since it’s a minor league deal it can’t hurt anything, but the guy just doesn’t seem like he has potential to pitch at the big league level.

That’s true. Maybe it’s something as simple as him being an incredibly hard worker, and they hate to completely shut the door on him because sometimes the hard worker types manage to find something that works. Nearly free pitching is often worth taking a chance on, even if it’s older and has broken down.
Maybe they just like him on a personal level.

I dont know why the braves are so high on this guy. Ridiculous decision, IMO.

Are there any details on the contract? If this is a league minimum contract with incentives i dont see any harm in this. Provides another veteran to help in the development of teheran and the other prospects.
coolstorybro222
yeah, we have MINOR LEAGUE COACHES FOR THAT.

Poor Marek, he is going to have to kidnap someone in the front office’s child to get a call.

I wonder if it went something like this: He wasn’t going to make the team, but the Braves wanted him for depth in AAA. Sense he wasn’t going to make the team, they let him look for a MLB deal somewhere else, so the released him. The grass wasn’t greener on the other side, so, he resigned with the Braves.

This deal is only for depth at Gwinnett.
coolstorybro222
So many better options out there, and they resign one of the biggest turds we’ve had since Dan Kolb?

Everybody chill. It’s a minor league deal. Totally inconsequential.

Since JJ’s hurt….and my man MINOR THE MAJOR got recalled…they had to have depth at Gwinnett(AAA)

I don’t get why the Braves are so fascinated with this guy.

I’m thinking there was some opt out clause in his contract and when he got to the open market he realized there weren’t any better deals available.
