Come on Cashman, Feliciano was overused in the last 2years by Manuel and if you didn’t know he was overused then you’re just a damn moron.

Warthen also said that if Cashman thought the Mets abused him so badly they shouldn’t have signed him for a 2 year $8 million deal. Cashman was way out of line saying that publically.
joe
cora was their emergency catcher last year

No experience, eh? Emergency is a pretty apt description then.
Lastings
They forgot to mention that Hu is the Mets emergency hitter, as he shows no experience at the plate.

Mr. Cashman, the number of games that Feliciano appeared in the last three years were 86, 88, and 92. That is a lot of games, an awful lot of games. Abused him? Possibly. You know what else? That information is readily available on any baseball stat site you choose to look at. Now that he’s on the DL, you comment about it, and say the Mets abused him. Surely you, or someone with the Yankees, knew just how many times he appeared in games, especially since he played just across town.
Whether the Mets handled him correctly is a great question for debate. The Mets knew his history (and age) and chose not to resign him. You knew (or should have known) his history and age, and you chose to sign him for not one, but two years. That is on you.

Crazy that Warthen can be on both sides of the issue at the same time!
-No he wasn’t overworked.
-Yes, that’s why we decided not to re-sign him.
Next stop for Mr. Warthen should be politics.

I have to side with the Mets fans here…or any sane baseball fans in general. I do not follow the Mets except for the Madoff Follies and I even knew that Feliciano has been the most worked reliever in MLB for the past 3 seasons. I think that ever since Cashman decided to rappel as an elf last December, you have to question some of the things that he does/says. And yes, Warthen should definitely be a politician…that guy is smooth!
