I don’t think he is going to leave regardless, but what else would he say during the season?
“Yeah I’m seriously considering going over to the Cubs.”
He can’t say that. Even if he said something like, “I’ll wait till the offseason to address that,” he would be jumped all over. I personally don’t think anything he has to say right now would mean much. Again though, I don’t think he leaves Boston.

Now to just hope it is not positive PR. IMO? Epstein is more important to the LT viability/strength of the team than Francona by far.

As much as I’d like Epstein to come to the Cubs, I just can’t envision it happening. What I’m hoping for is that
he gives Ricketts a strong recommendation for Ben Cherington. The
Chicago media has been focused on Rick Hahn, but I think Cherington is
the best fit for us.
