Didn’t know Carlos Pena word could be believed over 300M..
JohnS
He is not getting 300 Million for anybody.

A few thoughts…
1) How many more stories are we going to get about Pujols that are absolutely nothing. I always get excited seeing Pujols name in the headline only to be disappointed with the same exact line over and over with a different source’s name on it.
2) How many more Nunez threads are we going to get? This is like the 28th Nunez related topic brought up in the last few days.
3) I wouldn’t be surprised to see Alex Anthopoulos hire every one of those scouts lol.

If you’ve seen any major FA or trade candidate be followed on MLBTR, you should know that it gets to the point where you can’t stand to read it. I guarantee that you couldn’t fathom how many stories on Albert you’re gonna see. With Nunez, he’s the big story off the field right now. Wait till the end of the postseason, and he’ll be more or less forgotten

Also, the Rays have a 3 game set with Boston, not the Yankees
William Kafer
Better check that again. Rays/Yankees and Red Sox/Orioles for the next 3 days.
UnknownPoster
oh wow, you’re right. my apologizes Zach

Does it matter? The way the Red Sox are playing they can’t beat a middle school volley ball team… which coincidentally equals the talent of the Orioles.
UnknownPoster
yea, because the Rays have to beat the Yankees, while the Sox only have to beat the Orioles. If it was Rays/BoSox like I thought, the Rays would have a much better shot, for no other reason than they control their own destiny. Win, and move on. Now its win, pray, and maybe move on

Sounds like Nunez/Ovieda has bigger concerns than arbitration. Like whether he’ll be aloud to continue his career in the United States.
pmc765
Yes, exactly. How is Senor Ovieda going to obtain a work visa in the US after lying on past immigration documents?
And why would MLB go to his aid? MLB wouldn’t mind sending a messge to teenagers abroad that falsifying one’s age/identity is a career destroyer.

Only way Pujols stays a Cardinal is with a discount. He’ll command more money to go play on the East Coast.
JohnS
Who is going to pay more than 200 Million besides the Cardinals?
bpot92
Cubs probably could and might be willing to, but I think it would be a mistake given how far away from contention they would still be even with Pujols.
JohnS
Pujols wants to win…. Cubs???? I don’t think so.
bpot92
never said he would sign there, but you asked who would pay more than 200 million for him and there is a possibility the Cubs can/would offer him that much, not that he would accept it.
Frank Chinn
PUJOLS will sign in st lou
