The Rays have a chance. Albeit a small chance while the Cubs are done.

Barmes is a good pickup

When Fuld was on his mini tear, I’m sure he helped win more games for the Rays then Garza did for the Cubs.

Fuld’s diving catch vs the white sox was jaw dropping

Garza surpassed Fuld’s season long WAR in 40 IP.

 this is absolutely ridiculous logic.

Well to be fair, it’s not really “logic”.

I doubt the Cards will lose sleep over losing Stavinoha.

I doubt it too, but he could have became a quality bat or at least a power hitting versatile bench player.

Sort of odd to think that a guy who hasn’t managed a .700 OPS this year was thought “highly of”, but then again, it’s Ed Wade we’re talking about.

“Release Patterson, add Stavinoha?!? Blasphemy! Veteran outfielders are the key, do you remember how important Randy Wells was last year?!?”

I’d somewhat disagree about the Garza trade. It gave the Cubs Garza for his expensive years, and they don’t even have an extension worked out, so they might not get him for long.

In return, I still think Archer is a #3/4 SP or a GOOD back-end RP, and the Cubs could REALLY use Hak-Ju Lee right now, seeing as Castro’s still nowhere near Lee defensively.

Honestly, I wish that trade had included Barney over Lee because the Cubs would be very well-off being able to move Castro to 2B in my mind.

The Barmes thing isn’t anything new. I seen it out there a few times that he wants to stay in Houston. Wasn’t there something on this site back in April or May where Barmes said he wanted to stay with the Astros.
