Gonna suck for the AL if the Rangers take this one. The kind of roster they have, if you add a winner’s adrenaline to that, that’s kinda… unforgiving. I don’t see how they can lose though.

Why is it going to suck for the AL if the Rangers win?
es0terik
What I just said. They already have arguably the best offense in the game, and most teams only become better after winning a World Series. Their ownership becomes more lenient with their wallets, free agents get more attracted to the team, morale and chemistry takes a huge boost. They’ll be a much tougher opponent next year.
Chewtoy123
Ohh… you meant it’ll suck from their opponents’ perspectives. Gotcha.

While I understand what you are saying, I have to disagree. If teams tended to get better after winning the world series, we would’ve had more back to back winners than the 0 we’ve had in the last decade.
I do agree that ownership becomes more lenient and that teams tend to be more competitive, but I wouldn’t say it attracts more Free Agents, and I wouldn’t say they’ll become tougher the next year. Last year’s Giant’s are a prime example. Sabian got more leniency to bring in a big name bat this year, and Beltran wasn’t able to carry them into the post season.
I’m sure that the Rangers winning the World Series will provide some sort of attraction to the team, but I doubt it will be enough to change the lay out of the division for years to come…

You’ve obviously never heard of WAWAL (winner’s adrenaline wins above losers).
That’s why every team that wins the World Series always wins the next year, ya know.
es0terik
Because that’s what I said right? That if they won they were guaranteed to win the World Series next year? I said teams often get BETTER after winning, and if you think the best team always wins the World Series, I’m not surprised you’re making a comment like this anyways.
Oh and if you’re going to sarcastically discount adrenaline, maybe you should discount hot streaks, as that is what they basically are. And if you’re going to discount hot streaks, maybe you should discount the Cardinals from the playoffs too? Tool.

You are on here claiming that a team will play with more adrenaline NEXT season if they win the World Series this year, and I’m the tool? I have no idea how you connect adrenaline and hot streaks together. Hot streaks are win a team plays well for an extended period, not because they are more pumped up for a game.
This years World Series has zero to do with next season, besides the additional revenue the teams will bring in. That’s about it. Tool

Or you can just admit you’re a blatant butthurt homer and you’re annoyed that somebody thinks the Rangers might win the series? How the hell does a world series win not make a team stronger? I don’t even know why I bothered responding to you seeing as how I pointed out why I think what I think above already. Wouldn’t expect someone named ‘stl_cards’ to understand that though. Homerism at its finest.
Oh and it’s also incredibly clear that you had major difficulty in understanding the context in which I used the word adrenaline.
stl_cards16
What’s clear is you have no idea what you are talking about. I culd care less who thinks the Rangers will win the series. I mean they do have that “winners adrenaline” coming off the great ALCS, so who wouldn’t pick them? It’s going to be a good series, with Texas having a slight edge.

There’s a reason that they play the games. Just ask the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Phillies, or the Brewers.

Touche.

“I don’t see how they can lose though.”
I thought that last year.

All I can say is.. “Go Cards!!!”

I’d take a flyer on Oliver to fill out the Yankees’ bullpen.
Oliver, Logan, Wade, Soriano, Robertson, Rivera with Joba if and when he’s healthy and some farm hands filling out long relief…
