Every team needs a guy with a .270 OBP and all teams should be very interested in bringing a player of that caliber to their team.

Other than his microscopic on-base, was he really that bad?
Sage
Painfully bad.

Hmmm… I see.

yes
brewersfan729
Pretty much what Sage said.
Sniderlover
Bad wouldn’t be an accurate description.

The Brewers should sign a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to a two year 10mil deal with a mutual option for a third year. At least he’ll be able to walk.

Forget Fielder, this guy is the reason the Brewers got as far as they did. I assume they declined the option so they could give him an 8 year extension.
Devon Henry
How can they afford to pursue Reyes and not step up the extra couple mil and keep a fan favorite like Fielder? Or is it just a rumor that were pursuing Reyes….
brewersfan729
5/100 which is reportedly around what Reyes wants is much different than the Mark Teixeira type contract Prince wants.

Extra ‘couple’ mil? When did 50-60 mean ‘couple’. Never got the memo.

honestly, hairston should start as SS before betancourt.

Whelp, there goes the Brewers for a while.

Instead of Reyes, the Brewers should win the rights to and sign Hiroyuki Nakajima. It’s a gamble, but so is Reyes… plus signing Nakajima will be cheaper and he comes without the history of injuries. Lots of upside to be had, especially compared to Betancourt.

Same could be said in favor of Prince. Better offense, less risk injury wise. How many good offensive SS’s are there outside of Hanley. Not necessarily a position of offensive prowess, find one that has a high AVG. + OBP. & plays solid, lockdown defense.
