Really wouldn’t like to see Duda or Murphy go just yet but please feel free to deal Pelfrey and Pagan.

is budt selling the commissioner for 3 top revenue teams?

No.No.No! Keep Duda & Murph! They were clutch machines last year

Mets 2 years from competing? Ehh.. doubt it

I don’t understand the thought of moving Duda and/or Murphy. Neither are “superstars” but had solid years and are versatile. When/if Reyes leaves Tejada shifts to short and Murphy to 2B. Duda can play 1B if Davis continues to have issues with his foot and if not shift back to the OF. If the Mets hope to contend in 2 years these two will only be in their later twenties. I keep them if I am the Mets.

I agree about not trading either, but to be honest, Murphy is not that versatile. I’ll give him credit for attempting to play several positions in order to stay in the line-up, but he’s mastered none. His try in the outfield was a disaster and he got beat out by Brad Emaus at 2B, for god’s sake! We all remember how 1B turned out. His best position is 3B, so he’s kind of screwed. Still he can hit, and if you can hit, they will find a spot for you.
Duda’s only position is RF if Ike Davis returns. He’s not exactly a gazelle out there but he makes the plays that should be made and does have a good arm. Like Murphy, he looks like he can hit and he has power. I’m with you, keep them and see what shakes out come the future.

Barring changes with the new CBA, if Reyes “takes his talents to South Beach” it is a double whammy for Mets fans. With the Marlins having the 9th pick in the ’12 draft, the Mets would get a supplemental Rd pick and the Marlins’ 2nd Rd pick, not their 1st Rd Pick since its in the top 15.
Mets fans, if you cant get re-sign him, start rooting for the Nationals (16), Dodgers (18), Giants (20), Cardinals (23), and Brewers (28). I understand things would need to happen for some of these teams to bid but they all are in need of SS or could be interested in upgrading the position.

Pagan is the only player on the team that “picks up his lunchbox and goes to work”. Pelfrty thinks he’s a superstar, Wright & Reyes play when they feel like it, Murphy has no baseball sense & Duda will never be a major league player. On second thought, I think Ike Davis is a player also.
East Coast Bias
Why would they trade Ike? He can be a piece to build around for the future. I never understand why reporters think just because a team is rebuilding, they will trade away all of their wanted pieces, despite low salary, high production, and control.
Joveoak
Mets won’t trade Ike. They would, however, consider trading Lucas Duda and Daniel Murphy.

Ken Rosenthal’s credibility is no longer valid, he has made many false claims as to what officials are thinking…I don’t know how he still has a job
