Thanks, Theo, for being seen in a coffee shop in Chicago. Now we’re going to get a rumor whenever any free agent is seen in any city.

Dierkes article gave me some insight into the Cubs this off season. I don’t see them moving Garza unless they lower their price.

which is a good thing. garza has cy potential, and is still relatively young. he’s a great piece for the cubs to have. in fact if he puts up slightly better numbers next season, the cubs could flip him for a king’s ransom akin to the Ubaldo Jimenez deal.
Chaim Breslow's Purse
Send Garza to the Sox for something, and work the compensation in that deal.

Not a chance.
The Red Sox barely have any catchers in their farm system as it is. Saltalamacchia isn’t anything special. I doubt Varitek is back. Plus he’s the first right handed power bat developed by the Red Sox since Dan Duquette drafted Youkilis in ’01.

fair enough, i’d rather the cubs hold on to garza anyway. soto is a fine catcher despite what critics say, and wellington castillo shows some promise.

“(Insert team name) have been impressed by Cubano center fielder Yoennis Cespedes.”
