Wow!!!! You have to be the biggest loser to be trying to offend the new stadium lol Stop hating this team and go talk about your favorite instead.

Its boring man.. sorry you get insanely defensive… Miami calls it “the crown jewel” of ballparks? Ha

I kinda like that it is modern….a change a pace from the classic ballpark trend

You haven’t been to Oakland.

altosax29b

They don’t call Oakland “The Ballpark that Joe Blanton built” for no reason

3 years 8 months ago

Run out of Pujols and Marlins insults?  Now you’ve moved on to the stadium insults?  Really…

Looks like all 3 Marlins fans are out in full force defending their ballpark

The_BiRDS

I checked out the stadium just now for the first time and it looks pretty neat. Especially the backstop, might have few marlins in there.

It amazes me every year to see teams line up to pay for aging innings eater types like Buehrle.  Yes, he eats innings, though he won’t so much in the NL since he’ll be removed for PH occasionally, but he’s also led the league in hits allowed 4 times.

Just get the deal done Rizzo. Give him a fourth year.

Back to Back to Backpost… “Officials hear Pujols will stay with the Cardinals” – ” Buehrle expect to sign within 24 hours” – “Furcal heading to another team than Brewers”…

Cardinals gaining ground here

Nats will get buehrle
Angels will get wilson
Marlins will get pujols
Yankees will get darvish if posted or will work out a deal for Gio that dont include Montero (A’s dont want players who have played in the majors already) they could actually send nunez with someone else to atlanta for JJ now since they won the rights to that japaneese SS earlier could be interesting to see what they do there, and if they go after the cuban OF when he posts on what they do with swisher lol

I’m gonna miss Buehlre so much on the south side =( thanks for the durability and good times Mark

3 years 8 months ago

this could end up being the next generation Chicago Cubs or New York Mets.Sign everyone on the market and get stuffed with bad contracts for the next 10 years.Loria will learn

JimBaily

The last 2 times they did it they won World Series.
Just saying….

3 years 8 months ago

The whole “all in” approach by the White Sox last year looks pretty bad now, eh?

3 years 8 months ago

It’s going to be the Natinals with the Angels and Marlins fighting over Wilson

LUWahooNatFan

calling it. nats will land him

3 years 8 months ago

Im guessing you dont win allot when you bet huh?

I’ve said from the beginning that Fielder and Buehrle would be better than just Pujols and having to trade for SPs.

Buehrle to Marlins: 4 years $58 mill per Rosenthal

3 years 8 months ago

Buehrle needs a solid defense behind him to pitch effectively.  Nats don’t have it.

3 years 8 months ago

*marlins win.

The_BiRDS

Take a look at it.. Not one person has mentioned anything special about it.. they just keep saying Im hating … I waiting to hear why it is the “Crown Jewel”

altosax29b

Loria will probably sell the ballpark in a year like the rest of the team lol

BluMule

I think Cards over Nats only because hes said he wants to play close to home.

But maybe Nats because Cards have bigger fish to worry about 😛

3 years 8 months ago

Some people are just miserable.

you guys just need to get away from the aging starters. im a yankees fan, but i like how the rangers are built. i live in dallas i been to a few of their games and an aging starter like oswalt who has back issues is not the answer. they need to just do what they have been doing and bringing their kids up. Nolan Ryan is smart he knows it which is why he isnt strongly going after CJ to keep him away from the angels. Buehrle will be a national, Cj will prob be wearing a marlins uniform unles they can get pujols first then he will be wearing a angels uniform. to be honest i can see Oswalt prob going back to houston on a 1 or 2 year 10 million dollar deal.

3 years 8 months ago

i wouldnt count the marlins out, their one SP away from being big contenders especially if they sign Pujols. they could actually use Han.Ramirez as a trade piece for a SP and 3B

Sometimes a ring matters to a player…more often than not, it comes down to years and money.

MadmanTX

Some aging starters have been kind to the Rangers over the years–like Ryan and knuckleballer Charlie Hough. Young starters are great, but I think the original point was that a veteran starter might be a leader in the clubhouse.

Wilson will never be that guy. He has an overinflated value of his worth and retreats into his head when he has a bad spell. He did a good job of mimicking Cliff Lee’s approach to pitching, except when he didn’t.

They haven’t been spending much for the last decade. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was Loria’s plan from when he bought the team. He knew the fanbase was weak. He finally got his stadium, and now he’s spending much of what he’s never spent right now.
