The Astros answer the Tigers’ move with one of their own!

…and all the sports channel crews make a U-ee and head south from Detroit to Houston. Southbound and down…

kinda shocked to see him DA’d he was a servicable SS and Chris snyder is just going to be on the DL for a majority of the season as well..

Go get him Red Sox!!

He’s a terrible defensive shortstop and when he’s not hitting .300 he’s very bad offensively because he rarely walks and has no power. He’s an AAAA type in my opinion.

BUT, what are the Astros? kinda a AAA team…so thats an upgrade

I’m an Angel Sanchez fan. I found him to be an endearing player who played well in a variety of difficult situations the last two years. His numbers were terrible last season though, so it makes sense. I hope he catches on as a utility infielder somewhere at the big league level before too long.

I could very well see Angel Sanchez at Tucson next year for the AAA Padres.

He’s certainly a borderline player but I enjoyed his talent for doing the little things that win games but don’t make the box scores. He’s an excellent bunter with a knack for dumping a flare to right when it’s needed and he plays adequate defense for a utility player although his game suffers when he plays too often. Too slow as a runner and has limited defensive range because of it.

I like Sanchez, he does have a penchant for clutch hits, and generally plays error free even if his arm/range/speed is not great. A good utility player, I hope he stays with the Astros on a minor league deal. At least someone to call up if Lowrie gets hurt, or if Marwin Gonzalez (Rule 5 draft pick at shortstop) doesn’t cut it.
