Quick Hits: White Sox, Guerrero, Gonzalez, Hart

By this time tomorrow, we'll know whether the Rangers were able to work out a deal with Japanese right-hander Yu Darvish. In the meantime, here are tonight's links…

Would like to see Guerrero in pinstripes, and the only way I’d like Ibanez is on a minor league contract with a chance to make the roster at spring training

White Sox have a good history of Cuban players (Contreras, Alexei, Viciedo), so I am hoping that Dayan could help land at least 1 of these 2 guys! And personally, I think I am pulling for Soler since he is younger and cheaper. Fits a rebuilding team better, especially if you believe these guys are probably a few years older than they claim.

If  Cory Hart plays first the lights are pretty bright,  so he may need his sunglasses at night.                  Sorry couldnt help it

Don’t ask Hart.  Tell Hart.  He is awful in the outfield.  Sounds like Gamel will play against righties Only.

I’m probably the only Yankee fan that wants them to acquire Bobby Abreu from the Angels for a PTBNL the Angles to pick up all but 2m of Abreau’s contract.

    Prince is Tiger bound

Tigers have Miggy at first. Prince would be a better fit for the Rangers. If Texes needed to move money to sign him, they may be able to interest the Tigers in Hamilton.

We need a DH so sign prince for 1 year 25million and see how Martinez is next season. Prince would be great protection for Cabrera and would be a much needed left handed bat, he would be worth the investment.

It won’t happen, but even if Prince were to sign a one year deal, you can bet it would be more than 25 million. For one year, Boras would make sure he had the highest AAS in mlb history. But no way Prince takes a one year deal.

Assuming Fielder signs a deal in the 5-7 yr range, he’ll be young enough to look for another after that. He won’t be willing to limit his future earning power by being a DH at this stage of his career.

    • A one year deal at 25 million dollars for a DH!?! Who is going to pay for that? Mike Ilitch? Is he going to sell a few more Little Cesar Pizza’s to help the effort?  Good Luck on that!
      PS Scott Boras loves you!

would you like me to say move cabrera to third then, Prince is an elite player and cabrera fielder would be lethal, we havent done anything this offseason somethings gotta give.

    yet to be determined.

According to Cot’s the second option is a player option, so not as much of a bargain.

But if they can get him to cut down on the walks then yes it has the potential to be a huge bargain.

  10. Isnt any hitter a perfect fit for a short porch?

    No thanks.

Vlad is a righty so with Jones also being a righty then it doesn’t make sense.

Both teams are rebuilding, so I don’t see why it would be more beneficial for the Cubs to get Soler more than the Sox, but it seems the Cubs are in the lead for Cepedes, and I doubt they get BOTH guys.

No.  Adam Dunn for AJ Burnett.  Or Alex Rios for AJ Burnett.  Or Dunn and Rios for anybody.  Please.

  17. jwsox 3 years ago

rios for burnet could work he can play all 3 OF positions, has some pop and can run and is a bet to bounce back for at least half a season

  18. Antonio Nicarelli 3 years ago

True.  And I believe that if Burnett gets out of New York and into a lower pressure environment, he will get closer to the pitcher he was with the Blue Jays – not truly dominant, but a solid mid-rotation guy.

Your is a completely different word than You’re. Don’t and dont are only different in that the apostrophe is missing. ‘Spelt’, on the other hand, is the wrong word and hardly deserves a capital ‘s’ in the middle of a sentence. Moral victory.
