you guys REALLY need to fix the link to Chris Carpenter. It makes it look like Theo was traded for an ALL STAR.

He was…. wasn’t he….?

FUTURE All-Star! Right? Who’s with me?!
johnsilver
It keeps everyone on their toes 🙂

But hey, at least people will realize that he once played for the Jays!

I looked at the comments because I knew that had to be wrong.

Ed: I commented on the wrong story.

Good news for the Jays that Beeston wants to stick around.
Jon Stark
Really? I think I’m ready for someone new.
Encarnacion's Parrot
Someone who quotes one thing and actually means it, rather than “oh yeah, we’re seriously considering installing natural grass,” only for him to say “yeah, we’re not considering natural grass at this time, and it probably will never happen” 3-days later.
He seems to be a smart baseball guy, but just downright awful with handling a fanbase and advertising the team.

yea hes ok, lots of enthusiasm, seems to work real well with rogers/AA. he’s had a couple PR hiccups, but i think thats more just media and fans reading way too much into what he says. if you look at what he’s actually said wrt payroll stuff and and whole natural grass thing, he never promised anything on any kind of concrete timeline. unfortunately, this has kind of been an offseason of mis-speculation and anger among the general fan populace, and many of his comments were taken to the extreme, and then criticized in hindsight.
he should probably just say less in general about the future of the organization, but then that runs counter to his job of marketing and trying to get fans excited.

Bud Selig’s so old, he taught Jamie Moyer how to pitch.
Encarnacion's Parrot
Bud Selig is so old, he was alive when the Cubs won a World Series!
Sorry man, couldn’t resist.
wickedkevin
Bud Selig is so old, he’s heard that joke before.

Soler better then Cespedes, they’re crazy! Soler isn’t even the best cuban left in the free agent market out of the DR, Henny Urrutia is. If this team were so smart they would grab this kid fast! He’s ready to play now, not in 3 or 4 years.
Crucisnh
Try reading more closely. The Sox said that Soler APPEALS more to them than Cespedes. And I think that it’s easy enough to figure out why. Cespedes is supposedly about 26 yo and wanted major league money, but was unproven as a major leaguer. Soler at 19 yo is a player that will go into the minor leagues and probably be less expensive, but also have time to adjust American baseball, whereas Cespedes at his price will have to adjust at the MLB level. And if he can’t make that adjustment, the A’s will have lost some big $$$.

Why would Wade Davis want to be traded from the best team in baseball?
