Instead of bickering over 1.1m for 2012, they should try to steal his services for a below market 3/30-33m deal instead.. Maybe even 4/40-45m if Sanchez is open to it.

you have a good point. i just don’t think the marlins are committed to him. it’s not based on anything other than seeing them lock up ricky before him.

I really hope they lock him up. Have liked him since when he was with the Sox organization (fan of both teams) and he is really the ace of the staff on the Marlins. Now that his injuries seem to be a thing of the past, they would be making a poor decision to let him walk with JJ seemingly out 1/3+ of every season, Nolasco a wild card from start to start and Buehrle is a #3 at best.
This is the anchor and person they can hold onto and it seems would cost less than Buehrle.
They may have locked up Nolasco 1st wanting to see if Sanchez could stay healthy another season, but then he did.. This is 2 seasons in a row now. Just my hopes and least.
