i would be perfectly happy with the a’s giving up adam rosales.
he’s a decent hitter, but from the eye test (having seen him play at the colliseum a bunch) just looks like one of the clumsiest fielders. he makes all the plays look awkward. sogard fits the utility infielder mold perfectly

That’s what I figured when I mentioned Oswalt earlier. In spite of a mountain of denials, I still think the Rangers are in on Oswalt. It might be sentiment over need though since Gonzalez is needed in the bullpen.

I trust the Rangers when they say they are out on Oswalt. Oswalt is going to demand a spot in the starting rotation, and there are too many good arms already there. Unless he drops his demands to start, I just don’t see the Rangers signing him (or even being all that interested).

Despite what the guy in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram say I really don’t see any connection between trading Uehara and signing Oswalt. The reason the Rangers haven’t been serious about Oswalt is because they don’t have a spot in the rotation for him, and trading a reliever doesn’t make that any different. Unless Oswalt is going to pitch out of the ‘pen for the Rangers I still don’t see it happening.
The only possibility I see is if they decide to put Feliz back in the ‘pen again, but even then they have like 7 starting pitchers so I’m not sure that that would do it either.

whomever can play short.

I see a much bigger need with Gonzalez than Oswalt. Our starting rotation is fine, but we need a lefty for the pen. I wonder who else Uehara blocked, though.
