CJ tried to invite himself to visit the Yankees. If they were interested they would have called. The ego on this man astounds me.

Translation: “I’m mad they didn’t raise the price to sign me with other teams even though I never would have considered them anyway and they knew that”

I don’t see that.
Perhaps he actually wanted to be a Yankee? The same thing happened with Tex: he wanted to join the Yankees but he didn’t want to take a big hit on pay.
Haven’t you ever thought about a firm that you really wanted to work for? (But, you weren’t willing to take a big hit on pay.)
He could have done the same with the Red Sox and other big market teams too (the Tigers were on a spending spree too) — but he didn’t.
It just happened that his FA year was at a time when the Yankees decided to tighten up on payroll.

No, we’re in a recession. jk

It’s been a long day when I read that second sentence as: The Beard has “structural issues” and he could have facial surgery.

Don’t worry, I read it the same way the first time.

Wow, when will C.J. Wilson stop whining about the Rangers, Yankees and anybody else that broke his heart? Oh the Rangers “offended” him in contract talks… so sad the Yankees weren’t interested in his quirks… boo-hoo that the Marlins wouldn’t give him a no-trade clause. This guy’s ego is bigger than Bonds in his prime.
How long will he last with the Angels? A year tops? The Angels should have gone after Buehrle instead.

Whoa let’s get carried away here.

“Whoa let’s get carried away here.”
sure thing! his ego’s bigger than bonds’ AND Manny’s AND A-Rod’s!
Infield Fly
Throw Roger Clemens on top of that pile and the set is complete! 🙂
🙁

Wow actually read before you post. It makes you look more intelligent. CJ didn’t do anything to bring about your ire. He was asked the question- he did not bring it up. God, people try so hard to find reasons to hate certain players.

The Giants are going to trade Brandon Belt for a closer who would be just as good or worse than any middle reliever that is already on the Giants. Awesome.
Tad_Knackers
Sounds crazy, but I could see them sending Belt to the Marlins for Heath Bell. He just can’t cut it outside of California…he doesn’t like being away from home and he is already in the doghouse in Miami. Maybe trade Belt and a B-level prospect for Bell and a PTBNL?
KyleB
I doubt being homesick is the reason why he’s performing poorly.
ellisburks
He is probably doing poorly cause he is getting older and is out of the cavern in San Diego. His K’s were down last year and he has had pronounced home/road splits. Also his new manager is a tool.
johnsilver
His new “manager” was still suspended last night when bell came in with a 3 run lead, bases clean and promptly gave up 3 runs and left runners on and blew it and these were not cheapie hits either, but line drives.. Bell was throwing 93-94 also, so problem wasn’t velocity, but flat out throwing meatballs and dead over center of the plate..
The guy just had nadda last night.
Matthew McDougle
He is getting older, but he went from the cavern in San Diego to a new cavern in Miami. He seems to be having trouble with his control. He threw 13 straight balls Friday night against the Astros.
