The worst trade in history was Wells for Napoli, it looked horrible when it happened and is even worse now. The disparity in the performances between these two players is bad enough, but the icing on the cake is the crippling salary Wells has.
McDonald for Dotel was pretty bad, but LA was toying around with JMac and didn’t really have a spot for him. Dumb to trade a young MLB arm for a reliever, but it’s nothing compared to the Wells deal. Even though the Dodgers probably wouldn’t mind McDonald pitching in their 5th spot for the minimum instead of Harang, they survived without him.

worst trade in history? i’ll raise you Ruth for a Broadway play or Pedro Martinez for Delino DeShields.

Or, you know, Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio. Why, Cubs, why?

I am still fairly happy with a few quoted the other day.. Curt Schilling and Brady Anderson for Mike Boddicker, Fergie jenkins for a collection of bodies from the Phillies..
The coup de gras? Steve Carlton for Rick Wise.
