I’ve always said the Indians gave way too much for Jimenez, that’s why when the Rockies where asking for similar package from the Reds, Jocketty said no thanks. Although we’ll see how that Latos deal works out for them.

Odd thing, is even later on they threw in Pomeranz as the PTBNL to make it even more lopsided (thus far) and Pomeranz has the makings of a stud far better than Jimanez ever could have been at Colorado.
Have to wonder what goes on at Cleveland sometimes.. they make superb deals like the Vmart ones and get great hauls, then throw away even more on guys like Jimanez.

The Indians knew full well knew they were trading for a guy who had a 4.50 ERA in a league without a DH. They only have themselves to blame.

the year before he had a 2.88 era..

Pomeranz was the PTBNL from the start, he just couldn’t be included at the time of the trade.
Pomeranz still has potential but hasn’t show much at the big league level. The other guy in the trade, Alex White, has regressed and got hit with a DUI during ST. So far everyone in the trade sucks but Poms still has a shot at least.
