Don’t think it matters all that much if they have any interest in Marquis, what with him being a Padre and all.

The presumptive new owner of the Padres, Peter O’Malley, has instructed the current owners to sign as many MLB ready back-up plans as possible for the Pads to befit their new role as Dodgers’ new AAAA affiliate.

I really don’t want to see Greinke back in a KC uniform (unlike many other KC fans), but it would be ironic if the Royals got him back.
Essentially they would have lent Greinke to the Brewers for 20 months in exchange for emptying Milwaukee’s farm system.

Emptying? I like LoCain, but he’s a fourth outfielder. Jeffress – live arm, yet to produce, plus all the baggage? No thanks. Escobar could turn out to be a league average shortstop, but he’ll never hit for power, plus the Brewers aren’t missing his low OBP. They have enough guys that can deliver in that department. Odorizzi could be solid, I’ll grant you that. But he’s far from a sure thing, and they’re sporting plenty of depth at SP. In fact, I like the four guys that they have now more: Thornburg, Peralta, Jungmann, and Bradley. Nelson is looking good too.

Reds should claim Nate Mclouth or sign him now that the pirates released him, he is nothing more than a pinch hitter these days anyways!
