All David Ortiz has to do is keep the 30 lbs. he lost off, permanently, and keep in shape….He could be effective as a DH until he reaches 40.

I can see him getting a 2 year deal in the off season especially considering the market for DH’s will increase by one next year.
Jaysfan724
That may go to Carlos Lee though

Jair Jurrjens : Tigers as
a) Philip Humber : Twins
b) Francisco Liriano : Giants
c) Dan Haren : Diamondbacks
d) Matt Morris : Pirates
j6takish
Dan Haren was pretty well established when the D-Backs traded him. Dan Haren : Cardinals, would probably be more acceptable
Clayton Wilson
Heck of a trade by the Bravo’s, shame Jurrjens can’t even get through an AAA lineup without giving up 7+ runs. Got one great season, one good season, and a half of a great season out of him. He looks absolutely worthless now.

Brad Ledge is so bitter.

because he is on the younger and more exciting team with a brighter future?

Its gonna be difficult to sustain that Nats team if that fairly new ballpark remains half full.
Guest 4579
wow really? i feel like thats the only comeback phillies fans have for anything these days
Tom
Because he thought the Phils would give a broken down old pitcher a big contract. Oops. Maybe not the craziest thing considering some Phils contracts I guess. Either way I don’t think 35 year old pitchers care about the future of the team they just signed with.
And that is impressive that the Nats can be the 4th lowest scoring team in the NL and still be exciting. If they keep it up maybe they can reach 9th in attendance.
Jaysfan724
So you bag on their attendance and scoring, but yeah how has their starting pitching been and wait, where are they currently in the standings? And they just proceeded to win another series against the Phils. Yeah it’s May still, but that should be exciting for Nats fans, just as O’s fans should be excited for how well their team is performing.
