Correia for Youkilis?
MaineSox
I’d imagine Correia has even less value than Youkilis.
johnsilver
Exactly.. Boston just allowed his old matey Ohlendorf to walk away from a MiLB deal.. Why would they want someone else from that staff who is even worse??
Matthew
With peripheral stats like his in the NL Central he’d get absolutely destroyed in the AL East…
Devern Hansack
He has a -0.3 WAR this year after back-to-back 0.0 WAR seasons. I doubt there would be any serious takers.
TheLoLgen
How much could they actually get back for a 5th starter that almost never gets into the 6th inning and is lucky to reach 3 strikeouts a game?
Smrtbusnisman04
This is good; Correia is notorious for pitching poorly in the second half. Let’s hope the smart people in these front offices don’t know that.
Lastings
Well, the secret’s out now…

The Bucs aren’t going to net anything of value in return for Correia – they just want something as opposed to DFA’ing him to replace him w/ a better internal option. Correia could fit at the back-end of a lot of struggling rotations.

Correia for Lind

Is Correia for prospect Nolan Arenado too much of a stretch?
Right now, Kevin could be the Rockies #1 starter.
BeatEmBucs
Trading Correia for a bag of baseballs would be a stretch, let alone a team’s Top 10 prospect.

Kevin could be a nice pick up for some of the pitching starved teams. For whatever reason, Kevin has been great away from PNC Park. His splits on the road are great.
I think the Pirates can get a blocked hitter for him. He is not dominant but a very reliable inning eating type pitcher. Those guys have value and money is not an issue for him unlike other guys on the market.
BeatEmBucs
Last year? Absolutely. This year? Not really.
He’s made three more starts on the road than he has at PNC so far this year, but he’s actually been better at home this season.
1-2 at PNC, 3.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 12/6 K:BB
2-4 on the road, 4.64 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 15/16 K:BB

Correia’s value would likely be as a spot starter and long relief. Despite being a career starter, he just can’t seem to get past 70 pitches. But he’s usually capable of keeping a team in a game for 4-5 innings. Just don’t let him go past that.
Looking around MLB, he’s an upgrade on the back end of several rotations and many bullpens.
That’s not worth a ton, but it’s worth something.
