Score 1 for the good guys. (Well, as good as agents can be)

Good man E-Jax. Resign with the Nats this offseason.

Serves Boras right to lose a client.

I hope this is the beginning of a long line of players leaving Boras. I wonder how that kid that Pittsburgh drafted this year feels about getting advice from his “adviser”

I don’t think it’s necessarily a coincidence that Jackson decided to make this switch so soon after Appel didn’t sign. I think Appel not signing with the Pirates, despite the Bucs putting forth a more than fair offer under the signing guidelines, sent up a red flag about Boras to a lot of people.

I have a different view of Boras as a Nats fan. He may be difficult for many teams to deal with, but the Nats seem to have a good rapport. I am not that worried about Ted Lerner spending his billions, as long as he signs players the team needs. I believe that Jackson is with the Nats this year because Boras was content to showcase him in DC. Boras is a good judge of talent, and it has worked well for Jackson to be part of what has so far been the best rotation in the game.
I think that I want the Nats to re-sign Jackson, but I will be more sure in a few months. I am comfortable that Jackson will make more next season, and would therefore net the Nats another draft pick if they fail to or choose not to sign him after the season.

Ouch, wonder if Jackson is regretting turning down that multi-year deal in Pittsburgh this offseason?
