For Weave being such a competitor I’m amazed he’d be okay with Greinke getting more money. He may just be from a different breed.
Paul Webb
Just because Weaver is a competitor doesn’t mean he has to be greedy.

when he signed for 85 mil and they asked him why, he basically said: if my kids and my kid’s kids aren’t set for life, then they’re idiots.
he wanted to stay in anaheim and wanted to win, and was willing to take less $ to do so. I wish more players were like him

“are they paying him with my money? no? i’m still filthy rich? ok, well yeah that’s fine then”
Dave Regan
I think that last sentence was clear the moment he signed a far-below-market deal.

Weaver just wants to WIN. He has earned a lot of respect from me for taking less money to stay with the Angels and allow them to use their resources to build a better team. Sign Greinke already and pick up Haren’s option!

Why doesnt Weaver get more press for this. I literally cant remember another elite player being so dope about this stuff.

The way Zack Greinke has been playing thus far, the Angels need to retain him. If they Angels do decline Haren and Santana they might have enough because Jerry Dipoto is a GM GOD!
