I like Ozzie, he’s irascible, unvarnished, straightforward, a great quote and he doesn’t manage my favorite team. I would not like to see him lose his job, but…
He was given a team with a slew of stars, he alienated the major portion of his predominantly Cuban fan base, insulted the owner. Got called out in the media by one of his players, after calling out the same player earlier, failed to get a good performance from the team’s franchise player, resulting in him being traded.
If the team runs the table in the 5 remaining games, it will finish with the same record as the year before, despite a team with considerable more talent than the previous year.
Were he to get fired, it would not be a fun thing to witness. But one could say it is fair.

Guillen acts like Dr Zachary Smith (Jonathon Harris, the ONLY Dr Smith) from Lost In Space, in that he blames everyone for his troubles, hides behind others and does nothing but run his mouth behind everyone’s back.
To quote ‘Old Zach.. “We are Dooooomed”should be changed to Guillen is doomed.
Slopeboy
Can’t agree… I hated that character. I like Ozzie, he wouldn’t use the word Dooooomed.

Really not a fan of ozzie. I like a manager that can go out there and not be flashy, just be professional with the press, and keep your team together and motivated.

Yeah. Smith was easy to dislike.. Pointed out because Guillen and Smith both bad mouth behind backs, then point fingers when it goes wrong and “Dooomed” was used to describe the chorus going around in FL about his future.. He truly is “Dooomed” and not a moment to soon.
Wonder who goes 1st? Him or Bobby V when the season is over?

Did Bobby Valentine listen to ANYBODY?

Scutaro > Aviles
I though Aviles might pay off, but the trade was kind of a waste (no offense).

Mortenson actually was a decent long man and on most teams would have
been on a MLB roster all season, but the Sox only had 1 strength and
that was the BP, so he was on the Pawsox-Boston shuttle all year.
Aviles isn’t going to be starting much (if any) next year anyway with
Bogaerts, Vinicio etc.. All coming up thru the system and Iglesias as
close as he is. Aviles might even be gone over the winter, along with
Aceves.
