Now Orioles fans are doomed to see how rotten Hall is with the “leather” at every position, should Showalter allow his lethargic bat into the lineup.
Words cannot describe how poor of an excuse this “player” actually is. he makes Joey Gaithrite look like an All Star.

Hall has actually played with the O’s earlier in the season. Yeah, his previous stay was so good that I honestly completely forgot that he even existed until they showed him in the dugout tonight.
On a side note, I feel bad for Wolf. He pitched ok for the O’s and seemed like a good teammate. Plus, after giving up that bomb to Encarnacion earlier in the season that hit Bernie the Brewer’s slide, I felt kind of bad for the guy.

Wolfie might actually come back next year on a minor league deal, he fits the mold of a guy Duquette will take a flyer on who has possible ST upside next year.
Hall needs to go to NY so he can “help” the opposition (Orioles) get closer…
BradyAndersonsSideburns
I think Hall is going to take on the same role as Omar Quintanilla, which essentially is guy that the only way you know he is still on the team is by seeing him high five Adamn Jones in the dugout after a homerun. I think I see Wei Yen Chen’s interpreters more than Omar haha. And yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wolf given a minor league deal, and I would be quite alright with that.

How do you extend a player “a few years ago” who’s never had a full season’s worth of at bats up to this point??? Is this real life?
go_jays_go
Longoria signed a 6 year deal with the Rays only after 1 week in the majors.
Matt Moore signed a 5 year deal with the Rays only after 3 weeks in the majors.
Besides, the article says the contract extension was negotiated after the 2010 season, meaning that Snider already had 183 career major league games.

For the record, a GM should be able to juggle more than two things at a time, AA.
johnsmith4
Actually, AA did juggle many things at the same time. In 2010, he beat out the Yankees in signing Adeiny Hechavarria. Had a terrific draft in signing all the top prospects drafted (except 18th round pick Kris Bryant). Traded for Anthony Gose. Then extended Jose Bautista.
Frankly, going by the article, there might have been a problem with Snider having unrealistic contract expectations. It is understandable to a point, given, at the time, the recent contracts of Vernon Wells and Alex Rios.

the whole notion of extending Snider didn’t make sense to me at all, until your reminder about the Wells contract.
now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get a drink of water to clear the taste of throw up from my mouth.

I highly recommend the Snider Saga articles to not just Jays fans but baseball fans overall. It is a very interesting series of articles and probably one of the most insightful things I’ve read recently.
Snider was portrayed as a tragic hero to some degree.
Lunchbox45
you don’t usually get a player who’s still active to open up like this. that’s what makes it so intriguing. Although the Jays probably don’t like how they’re being painted
johnsmith4
I imagine this sends a little bit of a chill through the Pirates management team.
Trout Almonte
I don’t blame Snider to want to get a load off his mind like that, wanting to get a legitimate closure on the chapter, seeing how he seems to be a straight-out no-dillydallying kind of guy from the articles.
However If I’m someone from the Jays organization I’d have a legit reason to get pissed off because there’s probably something omitted by Snider that’d make the Jays look good and Snider look bad.
We’ll never know what really went on behind the whole shenanigan but this would probably be the closest thing we’ll get. One of the best “close thing” in the history of close things, I’d say.
Lunchbox45
well to be fair to Travis, during the interview he owned up to a lot of his own issues, so its not like he painted himself as a victim.
