@$6million he obviously hopes they will exercise his option. I would be surprised if they did. He is not getting that kind of money anywhere else at this point.

Yea. The only way he gets that is if the contract is incentive laden.

Well I’d rather make $6 Million than a $1 Million buyout and another $1.5 Million for the contract he’d get from another team in 2013.

He put up really good numbers from 2006-2010. Two years in row now that he’s come in around a ~.300 OBP, though.

I live in the area and the his name comes up A LOT. They have been VERY frustrated with this guy down here and he’s one big goat. Now he wants the Rays to pony up 5M to keep him around another year? Don’t see it happening.

He was injured or recovering from them most of the year, but he played well when he played on a consistant basis, I would like to see what he would do if he stayed healthy all season, maybe for less money?
