I always cheer for a guy to make a comeback. Keep living the dream Tomko, it’s always worth a shot.

Brett Tomko..(my best Obi Wan Kenobi voice) “Now, that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time..a long time.”

Im a little ticked with the way the Mets handled Turner’s release. They could have easily just let him go and said they wanted to move on. Instead, they leaked out that he was released for not hustling. Im not a big Turner guy, I think he’s a great clubhouse guy and a good bottom of the roster guy/utility IF, but he’s easily replaceable.
But from a fan’s perspective, hustling never seemed to be his problem. And for a team to call out a guy after he’s released that will always battle to get every job he gets seems pretty lame. He isn’t a 10 million dollar a year guy. He will always be a low salary guy and the Mets felt the need to hurt his chances to land his next gig. It’s just the kind of thing other players will notice.

Great comment! I agree with you. I think it’s an unwritten rule that clubs maintain a certain level of professionalism when it comes to current and former players. This is the type of thing that stays in house for the good of both the player and the team. While Turner may be hurt by these reputation questions, the mets also hurt themselves by breaching clubhouse credibility.

Speaking of non-Japanese players, I can see some demand when Bryan Bullingtons’ contract ends. He seems pretty consistent over there and is able to get 30+ games and 175 innings a season.

What am I missing about the Rockies at catcher? First trying for McCann and whoever else and then being knocked for not getting any? What’s wrong with Wilin Rosario?
