Is Jerry D trying to mess with Mike again?

This is a bad deal for the Cubs.

Meh, doubt either make the MLB, maybe Gretzky based on his name
Rally Weimaraner
Gretzky isn’t making the MLB anytime soon, OF’ers are the one thing LAA’s farm system has plenty of.

I think the Angels got the better deal but far from being a bad deal. He was likely in line to be cut and this was a good chance to get him on a team that could use his skills in the minors.

Good Trade I think and might pan out.

When was the last time two ex-pro’s kids were traded for each other?

You want to win a World Series, Super Bowl, Stanley cup? Draft kids who’s fathers were HOF players in other sports.

When Wayne Gretzky was traded to the Kings, guess who answered the phone? Robin Thicke of all people. Wayne was babysitting him. And when Wayne got on the phone he was told he had to skip town immediately to complete the deal. He had to leave Robin home alone. Anyways, I don’t know why Dipoto would trade for another OF prospect, but I guess it helps their lower level farm teams. Trevor actually hit .304 in rookie ball last season, and did hit .306 at high A after hitting .256 at low A, which off set that .306 to .274. No power though. Not sure how he is on defense, other than 5 E’s in 65 games. Not sure either he or Matt Scioscia have a chance, but who knows.

I love this trade for both sides because the Angels get an outfielder with a smidgen of upside and a track record of athleticism if his father is any indication, and the Cubs will never win another World Series again.

Scioscia for Gretzky… anyone else feel like that’s a historical multi-sport fantasy trade?
