But can he still pitch? At the rate this team’s being voodoo dolled, we’ll need some warm bodies in the pen before too long.

Once Pedro Fig was pitching well, torn UCL

I chuckled when his agent tried to conjure up cheap tricks to force the Jays to send him to Texas or give him more money.

Congrats to Darren, I’ve always liked him.

Crossed his path a couple of times over the years as a life long ranger fan. One of the nicest most down to earth athletes I ever met. But so was Chad Curtis so…..

I have always wondered what these “special assistants” actually do. Do they do pro-scouting? Do they submit reports on their own players? Are they employed full time and receiving benefits? It’s not like they have a cubicle and show up to the office everyday.

My son was playing an city all star game at Pepper Park about 13 years ago when he was 12. I was sitting in the stands watching him pitch, when the guy in front of me struck up a conversation with me about his performance. When he turned around I realized it was Darren Oliver. He was at the stadium for something and saw the lights on at the smaller park and came over to “scout” future talent. He talked to the kids after the game and actually gave my son (He pitched through college) some pointers. He’s a real nice guy and is a great ambassador of the game. I hope he does well.
