Venezuelan Brett Jackson.
connfyoozed .
Gorkys must be a word that means “AAA nomad”. He simply cannot hit, but he is good depth as a defensive replacement and base runner.
Ted 2
he’s going to try to fill a Jordan Danks shaped hole in the Sox minor league system
Brian Baker
but hey, he’s a Danks!

Joe Orsatti
The White Sox should go for Bernadina. He would be a GREAT replacement for the season and could function as a back-up in the longrun
Ron Loreski 2
Why would the Reds give him up? He’s their insurance policy for Billy Hamilton.
Brian Baker
I’m a big fan of Hamilton, but him playing everyday and hitting leadoff is quite a stretch. He needed another year in AAA.
Hills of Glenallen
No amount of time in AAA will turn him in to a hitter. Another guy with legs and no bat.

Skip Schumacher could replace berny

Last I heard, Jermaine Dye was available.
"Roscoe"
I’ve always said something else was up with his abrupt retirement. 27 HRs – 81 RBI in 141 games 2009, his last year. Yeah, only hit .250. We hope Tank, Danks or any replacement hits for that avg……….no way the production.
formerdraftpick 2
Well, they low balled him in salary for the type of production he brought to the team. Dye said forget it and good luck. I don’t blame him. A shame. I think all of the fans liked him, which in itself would constitute a fan.

RH Gregor Blanco
connfyoozed .
No, Blanco can hit a little bit.

Seems like the Pirates might be able to swing a deal with either the White Sox or Twins to fulfill the gap of injured outfielders.
CitizenLoonie
It’s seems Jordan’s Arizona spring was just a mirage. He was batting .182 at Charlotte.
seth
So the Sox don’t want wo give Adam Dunn another shot at outfield?
"Roscoe"
The inning would be over before he got in position. Not to mention adding 30 minutes to the avg game time.
seth
He makes up for it with his lack of disciple at the plate. All strike outs or home runs for Mr Adam Dunn
MackPCA
Actually, Dunn has great plate discipline. He rarely swings at pitches out of the zone and takes way more than his share of walks. He simply doesn’t have the contact skills to hit for average.
seth
He’s a power hitter, he’s going to get his share of walks, that point is really not valid. Over the last 5 years alone he’s averaged 197.4 strikeouts a season. Over the last three he’s had 222, 222, 189. How’s that showing discipline?.
MackPCA
Plate discipline typically refers to being able to swing and strikes and take pitches out of the zone. He has that in spades. The statistics indicate he consistently is very good at not swinging at pitches out of the zone – he has a great eye at the plate and uses it to his advantage – this is why he walks. I really do not understand what point you are trying to make. Sure, he strikes out a great deal. In his case it is because of lack of contact, not lack of plate discipline. And everyone knew he would strike out a great deal when he signed and we should all expect that as he is in his decline phase (also expected) that it really isn’t going to get better as he cannot cover the fast ball as well as he used to.
connfyoozed .
Dunn can barely play first base anymore, and hasn’t been adequate in the outfield for 3 to 5 years now. He’s gotten too heavy and slow.
"Roscoe"
What does “cash considerations” mean? I hope it means, “We’ll give you some cash if he actually steps between the foul lines this year.” Kinda like “I’m the player to be named later.” – Crash Davis
seth
It can mean any value of cash. Some players have been sold to another team for as low as $1.
