Giants….!!!!!!!
Beatofficer
I’d be ok with the Giants taking a flyer on this guy, has to work out better than what they currently have on their outfield bench.

Yes!

Maybe a Jordan Schafer for Dan Uggla deal is in the mix.

Schafer was awesome in 2013 and was doing everything he could to take the CF job away from B.J. Upton. He hit about .300 until an ankle injury derailed his season. He barely got any chance to play this year since B.J. is doing better (yes, .220 is considered better).

I think he should have had more of a chance to play more. I always liked him better than BJ, and he’s cheaper.
bravo88
He’s had chances, and hasn’t earned a deeper look at all with his 2014 performance. Like Enigma says, his average is making BJ look like a world beater.
Brian Baker
Ankle injury? More like that inflated BAPIP finally dropped to his career norms
April-June 25: .317/.406/.475 with a .422 BAPIP
June 26-October: .171/.246/.207 with a .267 BAPIP
This guy had two decent seasons, when he roided up in A+ ball in 2007 and 2008. Never had an OPS above .695 at any other level any other year.

I think Ramiro Pena would have been the better option to drop here instead of Schafer. At least Schafer can produce some speed when you need a fast runner in the 9th.
Go Braves
No because of pena’s versatility

Good riddance as far as I’m concerned. Schafer has been a below level replacement guy pretty much his entire career and Wren should have never picked him back up after Houston told him to take a hike. The only decent numbers he’s put up as a professional on any level was the season and a half that center around a PED suspension back in 07/08.
