Definitely seems like Sabean is talking about Zobrist.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Sabean was going to pull the trigger on a 2b trade, but put on the brakes when Brian Roberts got DFA’d.
I bet 10 Bochy Bucks that Roberts is in a Giants uni by 8/10/14.
This is a transaction that is just dripping with Sabean.

Old, no defense, below average bat. Yeah you’re probably right.

It makes no sense that he didn’t go after Cabrera or Aaron Hill or even Stephen Drew for that matter. So, knowing that this is a top need for the giants and nothing was done about it, it tells me that he’s going the junk bin route again, all the while counting on Scutaro to come back and be Superman.

Stephen Drew? Really? The Giants are trying to make themselves better not worse. Guy was hitting .176 at Fenway. Giants could’ve just brought up Brandon Hicks again.

I’m not saying that he should have traded for Drew, I’m saying that everyone in baseball knows that the Giants need 2B help and ZERO moves were made. Sabean didn’t even pretend to try to solve the problem by getting someone as useless as Stephen Drew. Which makes me think that he’s holding out all hope for Marco Scutaro, and basing all this hope on nothing except Scutaro’s 2nd half numbers in 2012. This is a huge problem for the Giants going forward and Sabean can’t be bothered to address it.

F Sanchez and Scutaro won 2 World Championships. Sabean can’t pull a rabbit out of his hat every year.

It’s not like he’s trading for Roberto Alomar in his prime. He just had to get a half decent 2b that isn’t hitting the .100’s.

The Giants called up Matt Duffy who I really like. I saw him three or four times last year when he was at San Jose. He’s better than Panick and cheap.

What the deal with Red Soxes? With so many teams after Miller they could have gotten a lot more. I understand Tigers leaving when they learned they can have Price.

Half a year of relievers don’t net much and E-Rod was top 75 prospect before the year and is only 21 and considered a future number 2 or 3 potentially even with his struggles against older competition. I think they prob got the best possible return

I’m pretty sure Ben got as much as he felt that he could for Andrew Miller or he wouldn’t have traded him.

One of the beats reported that Sabean said the guys he was targeting ended up not being traded, so it cannot be guys who were traded.
