Kevin D. 2
I can’t describe how happy I am to see him lose his roster spot. Hopefully it goes to someone interesting this off-season *cough cough Yasmani Tomas cough*

His roster spot will probably be replaced by another pitcher. If we get Tomas, it’ll mean that one of Byrd/Brown/Ruf/Sizemore has been traded.

You forgot Revere, who I like but is the one I think will get traded off
NotCanon
I doubt Revere gets traded simply because he’s cheap and actually performed last year, but is of limited utility on most teams that are contending due to his lack of power and poor arm. It’s also problematic because he’s our only legitimate CF.
Byrd’s on the block because he’s got a desirable skillset (plus power bat, solid corner D) and a salary that the team is looking to shed. Brown’s on the block because he was terrible but showed flashes in the past, so he could get us another “change of scenery” type. Sizemore’s on the block for the same reason Roberto Hernandez was this season.

Oh I completely agree with all of your points, but I don’t trust RAJ to come to those same conclusions

Eh, I’m reasonably certain Amaro knows that there’s no center fielders on the team. I’m also reasonably sure he knows that Tomas isn’t a CF. Unless Amaro’s looking to sign/trade for one, I don’t see Revere going anywhere.
Amaro knows better than anyone how overly-invested we are in pitching (vs. offense), so outfield D is an absolute must. Especially if one corner might be manned by Ruf/Brown.

In an otherwise awful year to watch Phillies baseball, Byrd’s defense was the one pleasant surprise I saw. I knew what we’d get from him at the plate, but didn’t realize he was pretty solid in the field. Or maybe watching Brown and Revere the past couple of years just made me expect the worst haha.

To my eye, Byrd is still an above-average fielder. He makes great reads, he gets great jumps and he has just enough speed to take advantage of them. He also has a pretty darn good arm.
Fangraphs doesn’t agree with my eye, however. A 3.8 UZR/150 is positive, but definitely not what anyone would consider “really good.”

You always make great points….thanks!
I Want My Bird
I don’t think Brasier was providing the support that was necessary.
