That Scherzer piece is very shallow. Don’t see Scherzer making sense. They need offense way more than they need pitching. Sure Scherzer may cost the most, but he isn’t the best fit for them. He is way on the high end of fly balls.
He had the 9th highest FB% of qualified pitchers, and that is definitely someone that the Yankees should stay far away from. And the 3 years Scherzer has been really good he saw a big jump in fly balls. It didnt’ work with Hughes, and it’s not a great plan here.
