Well, that escalated quickly…
Brixton G.
Seems very rushed.

It does. But the last pitcher I remember thinking was really rushed to the majors, Jose Fernandez. Turned out the Marlins know more than me about pitchers!

Or Carlos Rodon who has done decently.

I guess the Astros want to get as many starts out of him as possible at the major league level before the inevitable TJ surgery

Not a bad plan. A pitcher only has so many “bullets”. No reason to waste them in the minors.

McCullers has fantastic stuff…..98 mph fastball……looked unhittable in spring training and carried that over to AA. I think he has ace potential and the Astros need a right handed ace to go along with Dallas Keuchel. Great move.

As a Padres fan, I always loved his dad, thought he would have a better career than he did. Good luck to Junior.

Here’s what I have to say… Yes, it seems rushed. I totally agree. The call-ups of Correa and McCullers are uncharacteristic for Luhnow who loves to develop the prospects until he essentially has to call them up. BUT, with their performance, they were deserving of a call-up to Triple-A Fresno. With Oberholtzer going back to the DL and Gregerson on another family-leave, we needed a pitcher up. Though I feel it would have been wise to go with Straily or Buchanan, I’m ok with this. McCullers is a beast so I’m really excited to see him pitch. He deserves a shot.
